JUNIOR U13’S CRICKET
MATCH REPORT
26th June
Bardsey 116-6
Saxton 57-8
Saxton started off quite well restricting their openers to just a few singles, but it was still the same old story with wides, 13 in all being bowled. Extras accounted for 47 runs. If we could keep these down we would be in with a shout. Their number three retired with 31 and numbers six and seven also made a few and they set us a target of 117 to win. Kyle Mason was tidy in his two overs, as were Lewis Cook and Oliver Heaton.
Our fielding was good once again. Lewis Cook took a great catch on the boundary and also took another fine catch off a no-ball, the unlucky bowler being Dominic Graham. William Jefferson, substitute fielder saved a couple of fours and Jake Barber was as sharp as ever.
When it came to batting we all got started but couldn’t keep any momentum going. They had two quick opening bowlers and several talkative (over-talkative) players. We ignored the sledging and played our game in the right spirit. Well done lads! Keep up the effort and a victory will come our way before the end of the season.
